Pattern Worksheets: What Comes Next?
Spotting a pattern is an early math skill: the child notices what repeats and predicts what comes next. Each sheet has six rows with one kind of pattern, from the simple AB (apple, banana, apple, banana) to ABC, AABB and growing patterns. Choose the "circle" version for the youngest, who pick the answer among three pictures, or the "draw" version, with empty boxes to fill in.

How to use it
Read each row together, naming the pictures in a rhythm ("apple, banana, apple, banana…"); the pattern is easier to hear than to see. Ask what comes next before your child circles or draws it. Clapping or tapping the pattern helps too.
