Missing Numbers Worksheets

Counting is easier when there is something to count. On these sheets the numbers sit under fruit and animals, ride a train, or make up the body of a caterpillar, and a few of them are missing. Start with 1 to 10, then work up to the hundred chart and to counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. Each layout comes in an easy version (fewer blanks) and a hard one.

How to use it

Let your child count aloud from the first number, pointing at each box, and write the missing number when they reach an empty one. If they get stuck, count back from a number they know. When the easy sheet goes smoothly, try the hard version of the same range.
